Begin with the boarding conditions
Tell the provider the children’s ages and any assistance required. Ask how boarding works at both ends, whether there are steps and what support is available. Photos taken years ago cannot establish current pier conditions.
Ask about appropriate lifejackets and the operator’s rules. If the answer is vague, request clarification about the actual vessel rather than general assurances about family-friendly travel.
Plan the parts between the highlights
Discuss the longest period without a toilet break, the availability of shade and a place to change, and what food or drinking water needs to be brought. Ask whether those facilities are on the boat, ashore or both.
- Appropriate child lifejackets.
- Boarding procedure and assistance.
- Shade, seating and toilet arrangements.
- Food requirements and drinking water.
- A return plan if the family needs to leave early.
Treat needs as requirements, not notes
Include essential requirements in the quote request and ask for written confirmation. The form’s age bands organize an enquiry; they are not a published child-fare policy. Any pricing and suitability conditions must be agreed for your family.
